Holding on and Letting go

When I first met you
I suddenly knew what I had been missing
And it made me want nothing more than to hold on to you.
But sometimes
You have to give up what you love the most
And so I am learning to let go.

comfort you. I press my fingers against the cool clear glass and shout your name, You do not even turn, the meaning of my words muffled by the barrier between us. Then I am carried away, and then you are gone.
The grey, blank landscape echoes the emptiness inside. Just one thin pane of glass -
